Intense Ginger Sazerac | Barrow's Intense Ginger Cocktails

This iconic New Orleans cocktail receives a Barrow's twist. We replace the sugar cube for our Ginger liqueur to add a subtle hint of spice as well as less direct sweetness, rather going for the warm ginger flavor. It pairs wonderfully with the bitterness of the absinthe, as well as mixing well with the spice of the rye and the fruity aroma of the bitters. Even without the sugar, the cocktail is well balanced, not too bitter, spicy, and just the right amount of sweet.
Ingredients
- 2 oz rye
- .25 oz Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur
- 4 dashes Peychauds Bitters
- Absinthe
Instructions
- Rinse glass with absinthe and discard excess
- Garnish with a lemon peel.
