She wanted to honor her Father, Grandfather, and Great GrandFather's Family Name which is her maiden ...The Gravesandes.  Vanessa is a direct Descendant of "Lauren Storm Van Gravesande",  Governor of Essequibo, and Demerara  is Aka Guyana!  The Gravesande is Dutch from, Netherlands and Scotland with a rich history in Government,  Scientists, Engineers, and Entrepreneurs in Real Estate. Even Making Scotch in Scotland in the late 1890 after settling in Renfrewshire..but everyone made Scotch in the 1800's  it was a way of life.  Vanessa also wanted to honor her husband name Braxton which she carries still for over 27 years as a Wife and Mother and will be her legacy to her children and generations to come. The Braxton has deep roots all the way back to over 400 years in the US. They are African American Descendants of Slaves which built the US country!  Well know as Inventors, Entertainers, Educators and Religious influencers with a strong family bond!  Therefore Gravesande Braxton Distillers was the perfect combination of Vanessa Braxton maiden name and her married name reflecting the rich history and a strong future for her legacy!
